A Tribute to Chris Wood | |||||||
|
It is with much sadness and deep regret that the Society records the passing away of Chris Wood at the age of 60. A local, having lived just outside Buckingham all his life, but a relative new comer to the theatrical scene. He was reluctantly persuaded to join the Adstock Amateurs and became a star attraction in the village panto, as Dame. Even during the advanced stages of his illness in December 2000, he threw himself into his part with relish. Chris joined Wolverton G&S in 1997 for The Yeomen of the Guard and subsequently sang the roles of Lord Mountararat Iolanthe, The Usher Trial by Jury, The Duke of Plaza Toro The Gondoliers, and Sir Marmaduke The Sorcerer, (sadly his last production with us). He also sang the role of Dr Blint in Die Fledermaus for the Music Makers of Milton Keynes. Chris was a devoted family man and keen rugby player. He was a much liked and respected member of the society who is sadly missed. |
